Raised in the Sacramento area, my birth place is Wichita, Kansas. Attended Luther Burbank High School until my junior year and graduated from Encina High School. I’ve attended Sac City (Marketing) & Folsom Lake College (Web design & Programming). Earned a Culinary & Catering Certification and ran a successful catering business in the early 80’s.
Though I started working for Cummins Insurance at 16 (I was the weekend janitor with my younger brother Dan) not until my Father (Glen Cummins-Founder) moved his office and needed help stuffing envelopes to his clients letting them know the office moved did I start earning a paycheck! That was a little over 30 years ago and I still love my job.
Some of the highlights of my career include: Founding member of a Local Association for insurance software in 1989 (still in existence today), Board Member of Applied Client Network 1994-1997 (national association for insurance software), 1997-1998 President of Applied Client Network, served various committees including Applied Client Network Governance Chair, picture with President George Bush Sr., Howie Long (Raiders), James Carville, Newt Gingrich, Willie Nelson and Captain Sully Sullenberger but most of all successfully keeping the doors open of my father’s agency after his passing in 1997 with my sister (Debbie), brother (Dan). I have also served as Church Secretary & Sunday School teacher.
I am a proud Grandma of 4 granddaughters. My husband and I don’t see life getting any better than that along with our two shih tzus.
