Debbie was born in Wichita Kansas but was raised mostly in California. She attended Luther Burbank High School where she was class president her junior and senior years. Founder Glen Cummins hired Debbie as a receptionist in 1978 for Cummins Insurance. Today, she is the Commercial Lines Manager and LOVES her job.
Debbie earned her CPCU Designation in 1995 and was the IBA Sacramento President in 2003. She was also on the Sacramento City College Business Dept. Insurance Advisory Committee in 2008 and the State Fund Compensation Broker Advisory Committee from 2010-2012.
In her younger years she played USSA softball, soccer, and enjoyed skydiving for 12 years. She is still an avid snow skier and snowboarder. Debbie has traveled numerous continents and countries. Debbie is married to Alex.
Native Californian, raised in the Sacramento area. Graduated from Mira Loma HS. Went to the College of Insurance in New York City for 3 semesters. Worked two summer internships for CIGNA Insurance Company’s Sacramento branch office. Became a licensed P&C agent in 1985 and a licensed Life agent in 1986. Have worked for Cummins Insurance since 1985, serving many different roles such as janitor, file clerk, personal lines sales and commercial lines sales. Received my Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1997. Served on IBA Sacramento Board from 2005 to 2011.
While on the IBA Board I chaired several different committees, most notably chairing IBA Sacramento BIG I Day in 2008 and 2010. I am married to Kim Cummins and have 3 great kids, Alexandria, Steven and Erin. I have enjoyed attending many of my kids events over the years and continue watching them in their many endeavors. I enjoy playing softball, running for exercise, and grilling in the summer. I am an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco Giants. My idol is Michael Scott of “The Office” and have patterned my management skills in his image.
Born and raised in Northern Bavaria, Germany, moved to the US in 1963. Blessed with 1 handsome son, two beautiful daughters and 8 gorgeous grandchildren, one of them a very handsome U.S. Marine, (beaming with pride.) Just recently found out I am going to be a Great Grandma later on this year. And last, but not least, I am a single Mom to a 4 year old Shih Tzu, an awesome little Rescue named Chloe.
I attended Consumnes River College, completed some computer programming and business classes and started working as a temp at Cummins Insurance in 1989, was hired on full time in April of the same year. Needless to say I have been adopted into the Cummins family and vice versa.
In 1995 I was diagnosed with an aggressive type of breast cancer, while undergoing horrific treatments, the original founders of the Agency, Glen and Peggy Cummins, along with their son and daughters, blessed me immensely by standing behind me 100% and holding me up throughout the entire ordeal. I consider them all one of the biggest blessings in my life.
And now, 18 years later, still cancer free and in excellent health, I love my job especially when I get to help someone in a dilemma and am able to resolve the issue and make their day. I was named Five Star Insurance Professional in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 in Sacramento Magazine, which I consider a direct result of the environment I work in and the care and attention I provide our clients.
In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my family at home, spoiling the grandkids, gardening and walking my dog.
Office Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
I left Southern California in 1979 after graduating from the University of California Santa Barbara where I earned a degree in Film Studies, and prior to that a degree from the Film School of Half Moon Bay in cinema production. My goal at the time was to write and produce commercials, but I found a position at Pauley & Korinthias in San Francisco where I was hired because, as a film critic at times, I had very good typing skills. I decided to stay on and develop a career in insurance sales and marketing. In 1984 I relocated the agency to Redwood City and then again in 1990 to Sacramento, when my wife Mary and our daughter decided that the greater Sacramento area was where we wanted to call home. We all enjoy golf, tennis, skiing, fishing, hiking and cycling. Our latest venture is paddle boarding, so what better place to be. Once in town I began to involve myself with the Sacramento chamber, and midtown business owners association. I also began coaching girls basketball and working with the youth at our newly formed Church in Granite Bay. And after another move to Roseville I got involved with the local Rotary, and fundraising for the American Diabetes Association.
We worked very hard to build up a large commercial and personal clientele providing a full service agency/brokerage for business owners and individuals throughout the state. I have also been involved in association work with the California Drywall Association, Lath and Plasters Association, The PHHC of California and a nationwide program for Ambiente Housing. I have attempted many ventures and partnerships, but I have found nothing to compare with the Cummins Agency which I am proud to say I am now involved and have been for the last 6 years. There was a perfect match because customer and community service are so important to all of us and the level of professionalism is beyond reproach.
After 30 years of marriage we could not be happier with our move to Folsom in 1990, and our daughter who enjoys working and living in San Francisco. She too agrees that this is home.
I am happily married and a mother of 2 beautiful girls. I am extremely involved with Girl Scouts as both a Troop Leader and volunteer. I feel girl scouts inspires young girls to become great leaders. While I love my job and assisting my customers, my heart is best served spending time with my family and crafting in my spare time. I also spend a lot of time baking and cooking. I am very passionate about continuing family traditions with my kids that I was able to enjoy with my mom and grandfather. My favorite place to visit is Disneyland with my family but dream of traveling to Portugal at some point in my life.
Denise joined Cummins Insurance in 2009
Nancy has been with Cummins Insurance Agency, Inc. a little over 20 years. She works Thursday-Friday.
Born and raised in Sacramento, CA. I graduated from Bella Vista High School in 2007. I am a newer agent with 2 years experience in Property & Casualty. I work under my aunts, Debbie and DeAnna. and father, Dan, who have owned and operated the business since 1997 after Glen Cummins’ (my grandfather and founder of Cummins Insurance) passing.
I first started working at Cummins in high school as a file clerk during the summer and again after high school as their receptionist. After a few years of working for a fantastic law firm, I decided Cummins was ultimately the place I wanted to be and got my Property & Casualty license in 2015. Just recently, I joined as a volunteer for the Applied Client Network Applied|Net Task Force (Applied Client Network is a nationwide insurance software association) and am excited to delve into the task force and their operations more deeply. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, kayaking, riding my dune buggy, and hanging out with my dogs Dexter, Sukki, and Masuka.
I was raised in Livermore, CA but moved to Sacramento 6 years ago. I live with my boyfriend of 7 years and my two fur babies Carbon & Waffles. I spend my free time cooking, reading, writing stories, and playing different sports. I have two brothers and two sisters and I love spending time with them. I have 1 nephew, Kaeden, who I spoil whenever I can.
I started working in the insurance industry as a receptionist for a commercial broker in Pleasanton, CA. I became a licensed P&C agent in 2012. I enjoy working closely with clients and look forward to many more years in the insurance field.
